Southern SD70 locomotives
Norfolk Southern purchased its own
standard
cab SD70s, and in 1999 inherited Conrail's entire fleet of this model,
which had been assembled from kits at the Juanita shops. While CSX
jumped on the AC bandwagon with the SD70MAC,
NS
stuck the DC traction
motor SD70M and the SD70M-2, the latter of which has the wide radiators
of the SD70ACe.
