Lehigh Valley Caboose 95003 at Steamtown, PA

"Route of the Black Diamond"

Lehigh Valley caboose #95003 was built at the railroad's Sayre shops in 1941 using components furnished by Bethlehem Steel. It was still in service when Conrail took over in 1976, and was finally donated to Steamtown in 1988, arriving several years later. It was repainted in 1990, but by 2005 it was looking rather weathered from sitting in the Pennsylvania weather. It was stripped and repainted once again in the fall of 2009
